Just Because...

Those of you who are non-gamers won't have ever seen this and I was listening to it earlier. It's also an embedding test so let's see.

EDIT: Success. Well allow me to explain. The song is from the ending of the game Portal. I haven't actually played it but this song has become quite famous. It's something to do with a computer that talks to you during the game, seemingly the mastermind behind the events and when you kill 'her' at the end, this is the result. :P So it's a song about cake and death, sung by a psychotic artificial intelligence. Hooray. :D

  1. Great song! I could listen to it all day hehe :)

GLaDOS is a really scary AI. kind of creepy. You never know what 'she' is up to. I love those ambivalent, melancholic, menacing computers with female voices hehe ... reminds me at MOTHER of Alien and so on... :)

    Ches.

  2. Yeah, Mother was one of the earliest female AIs I can remember, especially the cold indifference of her voice during the self-destruct sequence, in stark contrast to Ripley shouting
"I've turned it off Mother! I shut it off!"
    :) Clever stuff.
'Course, the definitive psychotic AI for me will always be HAL 9000 from Space Odyssey.
    "I'm scared, Dave."
    Creepy.

I've seen some scenes from Portal though, including Glados' lengthy section at the end.
"Why don't you marry that thing if you love it so much? WELL I WON'T LET YOU!"
    Lol.
